How did you become interested in your current program or coursework?
I have always loved cooking for my family, even when I was a young girl. I would have to say I love pleasing people with my food.

What do you like most about your program or coursework?
What I like most is the on-site experience and creativity we are allowed to showcase. FCTC’s production-based program teaches us from chopping vegetables to actual operation of running a restaurant.

Why did you pick the center/college you’re attending?
I have always heard great things about the school, and it is very close to my house. Also, I have such a busy schedule and this program offered the things I needed to enhance my skills.

What do you plan to do after graduation?
I have plans to start up my own catering business locally, and further my schooling.

What advice would you give someone thinking about a career in your field?
It’s a passionate field. Therefore, having passion for what you do is very important. Don’t hesitate, just go for it and don’t look back.

What does “Career in a Year” mean to you?
It is fantastic for me, as a mother, a hard worker, and as a student who wants to go far in the field. I am able to complete everything I need to learn and start my career in a year.
