State Statistics

Utilizing the benefits afforded by the very successful CAPE Act as the springboard to postsecondary training, the Technical Colleges/Centers are focused on industry certified programs that can be obtained within a year or less. The “Career in a Year” theme includes more than 90% of the programs offered, most of which include nationally recognized industry credentials or licenses. You will see from the graph provided we are proud of the impact we make in the sunshine state.

A high quality technical education system continues to be critical to Florida’s economic recovery and growth. Florida’s public postsecondary Technical Colleges/Centers are an integral part of this system and provide the necessary training to greatly assist in meeting the shortage of skilled workers in our State.

Many recent workforce and labor studies indicate that two out of three jobs created between now and 2030 will require education and training beyond a high school diploma, but not necessarily a four-year college degree.
